Resistance Pro
Resistance Pro (RP) is a Chicago-based professional wrestling organization led by creative director Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins. Corgan reached out to SLI and Chris Nowinski because, “Injuries are nothing to be ashamed about. They happen, but you have to support the talent and not just look the other way.” SLI is now working with RP to develop a customized plan to improve the safety of the performers and manage risk while still producing an entertaining product by utilizing SLI educational programs and policies.
”I [Billy Corgan] said to Chris, ‘What if we become the first wrestling company to work with SLI to make concussion safety part of our protocol?’ Alongside the talk is real action, as Resistance Pro has its athletes undergo regular concussion screening.”

Westport Police Athletic League (PAL)
In 2007, Westport PAL asked, “What can we do to better protect our youth football and lacrosse players?” SLI supported Westport with education & training programs, modifications to practice, increased medical infrastructure, and guidance on rule changes and Westport cut their concussions by more than 50%, and the few concussions that did occur were managed according to published best practices at the time.
