Designating Your Support:

Memorial Funds
These donations help educate and train thousands of coaches, trainers, health professionals, parents and athletes through our Advanced Concussion Training (ACT) and SLI Community Educators (SLICE) programs, which provide information and inspiration to coaches and athletes to play sports more safely as well as support the groundbreaking research of the Center for the Study of Traumatic Encephalopathy at the Boston University School of Medicine.

Restricted Donations
Would you like to see your donation used for a specific program, like military research or youth sports education? Please contact Gregg Chambers, Director of Development, at gchambers@sportslegacy.org or (781) 262-3323 to learn more and discuss ways your gift can have the greatest impact.

Memorial Donations
Many donors support SLI in memory of an SLI Legacy Donor or another loved one whose death may have been related to CTE.  Memorial donations can be unrestricted or restricted.  To make a memorial donation, add the name of the person or the SLI Legacy Donor into the ‘Purpose’ field of your online donation or the memo portion of your check.  You can also send a separate email to Gregg Chambers, Director of Development, at gchambers@sportslegacy.org or call him at (781) 262-3323 to inform us of your memorial wishes.

Increase your Impact:

Matching Programs
Many employers offer programs that will match or even multiply charitable donations. To do so, simply obtain a matching gift form from your company’s Human Resources department, fill it out, and send it in with your contribution.

Planned Gifts:

Bequests
You may include a bequest to SLI in your estate plan or will. Such bequests can be for a specific amount, a percentage of your estate or a residual portion.  Please contact Gregg Chambers, Director of Development, at gchambers@sportslegacy.org or (781) 262-3323 for more information on planned giving opportunities.

Securities
In many cases, an outright gift of appreciated securities to SLI entitles you to an income tax charitable deduction for fair market value of the securities. Plus, you can avoid paying capital gains.   Please contact Gregg Chambers, Director of Development, at gchambers@sportslegacy.org or (781) 262-3323 to learn more about this opportunity.
