Christopher Nowinski (bio)
President, Sports Legacy Institute

Chris Nowinski is a former professional wrestler with World Wrestling Entertainment. He debuted on WWE's flagship program Monday Night RAW in 2002, when he was named "Newcomer of the Year" by RAW Magazine, and was the youngest male Hardcore Champion in WWE history before his career was ended in 2003 by a concussion. A former All-Ivy League defensive tackle, he wrote Head Games: Football’s Concussion Crisis, published in 2006 to educate parents, coaches, and children about this serious public health issue and later founded the Sports Legacy Institute to continue this work. He also served as the political correspondent for the WWE's award-winning get out the vote campaign Smackdown Your Vote! until the SLI announced the findings from their analysis of Nowinski’s former colleague Chris Benoit’s post-mortem brain examination. All records of his work were quickly removed from WWE’s websites and he was no longer asked to participate. He is a consultant with Trinity Partners in Waltham, MA, specializing in commercial strategy and licensing and acquisitions in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
